Terms of Service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Draft: details in [brackets] will be completed before launch.

The short version

Welcome to genZ. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and genZme (company no. [Company no.]), 12 HaNamal St., Haifa, Israel ("genZ", "we", "us"). They cover the genZ website, apps and every related service (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Rules and our Cookie Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use genZ.

1. Who can use genZ

To use genZ, you must:

We may ask you to confirm your age or identity, for example by phone, a live selfie or an ID document. If we believe you are under 18, we will close your account.

2. Your account

You sign in with a supported provider (such as Google, Apple or your phone number). Keep access to that sign-in secure: you are responsible for activity on your account.

Your gender and date of birth are used for matching and age protection. They must be true and can't be changed after you set them. Your nickname must not impersonate anyone, mislead, or break the Community Rules. We may change a nickname that does.

Accounts are personal. You may not sell, rent, share or transfer your account, coins or rewards.

3. How genZ works

genZ connects you with random people for live one-on-one video and text chat. You can move to the next person, end a call, add friends, block someone or report them at any time.

Matching depends on who is online, your filters and our fairness rules (such as a balanced gender ratio and priority for verified, well-behaved members). We don't guarantee a match, a particular person, or any amount of use.

Calls run directly between devices where possible. When that isn't possible, they pass in encrypted form through our relay servers. We do not record calls. Text messages are delivered live and not kept after delivery.

Some features are paid, limited to verified members, or still being tested. We may add, change or remove features over time.

4. Rules you agree to follow

Our Community Rules are part of these Terms. Most importantly, you must not:

5. Safety, moderation and strikes

To protect everyone, genZ uses automated tools and human review:

When a violation is confirmed, we apply a strike: first a short break, then a 24-hour suspension, then a 7-day suspension with human review, then a permanent ban. Strikes count for 30 days. Content involving minors, violence or weapons leads to an immediate permanent ban. We may also act on serious violations without following these steps.

You can appeal any strike from the warning screen. A person reviews every appeal. If we got it wrong, we remove the strike and lift its consequences.

Where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety, we may preserve information and share it with law enforcement. This includes reporting child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

6. Your content

You own what you share on genZ. You give us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free permission to transmit it to the people you talk with and to process it for safety, moderation and operating the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when the content is no longer needed for those purposes.

You are responsible for what you show and say. Don't share content you don't have the right to share, and don't share personal details (address, school, workplace, passwords) with strangers.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

7. Coins, subscriptions and payments

Your cancellation rights. Under the Israeli Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, you may cancel a purchase of coins within 14 days of the purchase, as long as you have not used the purchased coins. You may also cancel a subscription within 14 days of starting it. We refund the amount paid, less a cancellation fee of 5% of the price or ₪100, whichever is lower, as the law allows. Coins and benefits that have already been used are digital content supplied at your request and can't be refunded, except where the law requires otherwise. To cancel, use the app or write to support@[domain]. Nothing in this section limits any other right you have under that law.

If a payment is reversed or charged back without a valid reason, we may remove the related coins or benefits and suspend the account.

8. Deleting your account, suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. It is hidden immediately, and you can restore it by signing in again within 30 days. After that, it is permanently deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Unused coins and benefits are lost when the account is permanently deleted.

We may suspend or close your account, or limit features, if you break these Terms or the Community Rules, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. If your account is banned for a violation, unused coins and benefits are forfeited, unless the law requires otherwise. If we close your account for reasons that are not your fault, we will refund unused paid coins and the unused part of your subscription.

Sections that by their nature should survive (for example content permissions, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) continue to apply after your account ends.

9. Our rights

genZ, its name, logo, design, software and content (other than user content) belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent any part of the Service, or build a competing service from it.

10. Third-party services

Some parts of genZ rely on other companies, such as sign-in providers, app stores and payment providers. Their own terms apply to your use of their services. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control.

11. Disclaimers

Other users are strangers. We do not run criminal background checks, and verification badges confirm only what was verified (for example a phone number or a real face), not a person's character or intentions. You are responsible for your interactions with other users. Use common sense, and report anything that worries you.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fully secure, or that moderation will catch every violation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, genZ and its officers, employees and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profits or data, or for the conduct of other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₪100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate genZ for claims, damages and reasonable legal costs that result from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as genZ grows or the law changes. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by another reasonable means at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless it is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using genZ after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts in Tel Aviv-Jaffa have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your place of residence. If you live in the European Union or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep those protections.

Before going to court, please contact us at support@[domain]. Most problems can be solved quickly.

16. General

These Terms, together with the documents they mention, are the whole agreement between you and genZ about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right, that doesn't mean we waive it. We may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and you may not transfer them without our consent.

These Terms are available in Hebrew and English. If the versions differ, the Hebrew version applies to users in Israel and the English version applies to everyone else.
